May of 1998 I graduated from San Jose State with a degree
in Nutrition and Food Science and in July, I was in the
waiting room of Walter Reed Hospital, while my sister
received her chemotherapy. With large quantities of
angry nervous energy going through my body, I scoured the
reading materials and took note of the subtle and not so
subtle messages. I noticed there were no posters,
flyers, or communication of any kind to consume more
meat, cheese, fish, or dairy. However, there was direct
advice to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.
Since July, I have studied with three people from
the famed Hippocrates
Institute; Viktoras Kulvinskas, the co-founder, Robert
Smith, who was at Hippocrates
and the Ann
Wigmore Institute for 9 years, and Pam Masters -
a certified Hippocrates
trainer. For over thirty years, the Hippocrates
Institute achieved an 85% success rate for
degenerative disease, including cancer. The
philosophy is simple: detoxify the body, give the body
the nutrition it needs, and the body begins to heal
itself. In order for the body to heal itself, the
overall pH needs an alkaline state. Meat, fish and
dairy leave your body in an acid state, whereas fresh
fruits, vegetables, sprouted nuts and seeds, and some
grains leave it in an alkaline state. Viktoras Kulvinskas, the pioneer of enzyme therapy, considers enzymes to be the most powerful medication there is, and with no known side effects. Uranus rules magnetism, and Uranus rules enzymes. Enzymes are protein molecules that speed up chemical reactions in the body without themselves being altered. When the bulk of your foods are enzymaticly active, alkaline producing, and rich in nutrients, you might find what the people of Hippocrates have - that your body is an awesome machine which can detect when something is wrong and fix it. In this series, I will be posting raw food recipes used at Hypocrites and others developed by an increasing number of "raw fooders." Let's start with the tonic used at Hippocrates, Rejuvelac. |
Rejuvelac The sprouting of rye and/or wheat berries increases the Vitamin B6 content of the seeds by 500%, the Vitamin B5 content by 200%, B2 by 1,300%, biotin by 50%, and increases Folic acid by 600%. Rejuvelac also contains Vitamin E, which prevents oxidation, Vitamin K, essential to blood clotting, and acidophilus, important for a healthy immune system and an abundant supply of those all important enzymes.
Super foods must be enzymatically active to be super! If you are looking for an easier way to get started, that would be Super Blue Green Algae and the enzymes formulated by Viktoras Kulvinskas, both sold by Cell Tech.
